BRAVE NEW WORLD

For the Motion Title Sequence Class at VFS Term IV.

I decided to create a title sequence for one of my favourite novels, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

Written in 1931, this is a piece of speculative fiction that is set in the future. In this hypothetical World State,

people are genetically designed via scientific engineering and psychological conditioning

to become passive and thus useful to the ruling class.

Concept development

Geometric, Abstract, Outlines, Monochromatic, Old-futuristic

Considering this is a story where artificial humans are designated to live a life that is already written,

I decided to use a geometric and monochromatic style based on the art deco movement.

I played around with perfect lines, geometric shapes and a limited colour palette

to convey an austerity mood.
